Releases
“TALES FROM BEYOND THE PALE”

— Just in time for Halloween!!

and as Digital Downloads on Amazon and iTunes
Beginning October 11, 2011

(September 6, 2011) Glass Eye Pix is excited to offer the complete first season of their wildly successful audio theater TALES FROM BEYOND THE PALE to audiences beginning October 11th—just in time for Halloween as digital downloads, compact discs and as a box set.

Conceived during a fog-drenched car ride with nothing beyond the windshield but a horizon-less void, Larry Fessenden and Glenn McQuaid created the acclaimed TALES FROM BEYOND THE PALE, audio theater inspired by the vintage radio shows of Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles.

“It was very gratifying to challenge these artists to step outside their chosen medium and explore the world of audio storytelling, and to get everyone into production without a long fundraising period. With audio tales, the only limitation to production value is imagination,” states Fessenden.

McQuaid adds: “Season One of Tales from Beyond the Pale represents a year long effort to plunge the depths of like minded story tellers and to get original genre content out to hungry ears. It’s an eclectic mix, with each story taking the listener down new and unexplored roads.”

The five volumes (each containing a Tales “double bill”) will be available for download on Audible, Amazon and i-tunes. They are paired as follows:

VOL 1: MAN ON THE LEDGE & THE HOLE DIGGER

VOL 2: BRITISH AND PROUD & THE CONFORMATION

VOL 3: IS THIS SEAT TAKEN? & THE GRANDFATHER

VOL 4: THIS ORACLE MOON & TRAWLER

VOL 5: JOHNNY BOY & THE DEMON HUNTSMAN

Compact Discs: Volumes one through five are available as individual discs. Each disc contains two Tales (as above), and is housed in a beautiful six panel digipak, designed by Gary Pullin. Discs are Available from Amazon.com and Talesfrombeyondthepale.com.

SEASON ONE BOX SET: All five volumes of Season One collected and housed in a lacquer printed “black box.” Available from Amazon.com and Talesfrombeyondthepale.com.

Well well well, another delay. But we promise, next week we’ll be bringing you a brand new episode, a brand new website, andwe’re going to be laying out our plans for the launch of Season 1 on i-tunes, amazon and on CD.

For today might we reccomend a special Glass Eye Pix double bill: A listen to MAN ON THE LEDGE by director Joe Maggio, followed by a viewing of BITTER FEAST by Mr. Maggio, out on DVD 1/4/11. Both works feature Larry Fessenden as William Coley, the doomed gumshoe with a heart of gold.

Greetings, loyal listener! We hope you’ve stopped in to check for another episode of TALES FROM BEYOND THE PALE as you do every Tuesday. Well, not to dissapoint, but the next and final episode of this season will launch next week. Seems some of us at Pale HQ were making a bit too merry these last few days and forgot to put the finishing touches on Ashley Thorpe’s THE DEMON HUNTSMAN. We hope you can find something to do with yourself in the meantime, and we expect to see you back on January 4th. Until next time, listener, wishing you a happy new year

This week’s tale comes from the mind of TALES producer and co-curator Glenn McQuaid himself. It should delight fans of the odd and off kilter with a robust soundscape that may leave some listeners waterlogged and groping for terra firma.

With this tale we take a much needed week off before wrapping up Season One in the New Year with Ashley Thorpe’s THE DEMON HUNTSMAN.

Until then, wishing you pleasant dreams…
