(September 6, 2011) Glass Eye Pix is excited to offer the complete first season of their wildly successful audio theater TALES FROM BEYOND THE PALE to audiences beginning October 11th—just in time for Halloween as digital downloads, compact discs and as a box set.

Conceived during a fog-drenched car ride with nothing beyond the windshield but a horizon-less void, Larry Fessenden and Glenn McQuaid created the acclaimed TALES FROM BEYOND THE PALE, audio theater inspired by the vintage radio shows of Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles.

“It was very gratifying to challenge these artists to step outside their chosen medium and explore the world of audio storytelling, and to get everyone into production without a long fundraising period. With audio tales, the only limitation to production value is imagination,” states Fessenden.

McQuaid adds: “Season One of Tales from Beyond the Pale represents a year long effort to plunge the depths of like minded story tellers and to get original genre content out to hungry ears. It’s an eclectic mix, with each story taking the listener down new and unexplored roads.”

The five volumes (each containing a Tales “double bill”) will be available for download on Audible, Amazon and i-tunes. They are paired as follows:

VOL 1: MAN ON THE LEDGE & THE HOLE DIGGER

VOL 2: BRITISH AND PROUD & THE CONFORMATION

VOL 3: IS THIS SEAT TAKEN? & THE GRANDFATHER

VOL 4: THIS ORACLE MOON & TRAWLER

VOL 5: JOHNNY BOY & THE DEMON HUNTSMAN

Compact Discs: Volumes one through five are available as individual discs. Each disc contains two Tales (as above), and is housed in a beautiful six panel digipak, designed by Gary Pullin. Discs are Available from Amazon.com and Talesfrombeyondthepale.com.

SEASON ONE BOX SET: All five volumes of Season One collected and housed in a lacquer printed “black box.” Available from Amazon.com and Talesfrombeyondthepale.com.

This is awesome, but what’s going on with season 2? Will there be one? I hope so!

    Well done, Fessenden and McQuaid!

    Best,

    Hernon!

Thanks for creating this set! Although I’ve downloaded every episode (and designed my own jewel cases to house them), nothing beats a professionally manufactured and designed CD collection.

Hope more episodes will be coming in 2012!

I want to purchase this, but it’s unavailable on Amazon and it’s nowhere to be found on this site. I always much rather have physical media than digital.

You are an inspiration, Larry, and this idea is so great. A few years ago I wanted to do an audio show similar to this but it never came to fruition.

Can’t wait till this permeates my ears and I look forward to The Innkeepers, and any films you have coming down the pipeline.
